Memories of Alan Dick

Yesterday afternoon, our school lost our very own lower school principal
Mr. Alan Dick
he was the role model of a lot of people in the school
he was the "signature" of our school
he was someone I looked up to all the time

Mr. Dick was the principal of our lower school
the principal to kids from kindergarten (3 yrs old) to grade 6 (12 yrs old)
we have about 1100 students in the age range
and believe it or not
he knows all of those students' names
very.. single... one of them

he was always just more than a "office paperwork principal"
he would stand outside at the main entrance everyday before school
and greet the students as they walk in
everyday afterschool
he will stand outside
with his handsome sunglasses,
waving bye to our 2000+ students as they leave on the bus...

He was such a nice person
a great speaker,
so he always got the job to be our MC for most of our events
because of that
I have a lot of contact with him
it wasn't long ago when he just invited us to his place for a social
when he told me how he got his position at the school
when he gave me a big hug

I miss Alan's drop by to our office in the arts centre
i miss his happy smile which is always on his face
It has only been a day since he left us
but i miss him already...

watching the below video
it feels like everything is just a bad dream
it feels like none of the has happened
only if he can just talk to us again
only if...
only...
